Hello potential Prayer Guardian!

We are so thankful that the spirit has lead you to consider becoming a prayer guardian for HDA. You may be wondering what a prayer guardian entails. When you become a prayer guardian to a Deaf child in Haiti, you are supporting that child in the most powerful way possible. 1 John 5:14 says: “And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” We believe in the power of prayer and we know the Lord hears us when we call out to Him.

An HDA  prayer guardian is someone who feels called to pray for one of our precious children. Many of these children have faced tragedy and hardship. They each need someone who is dedicated to praying for them. Prayer looks different for everyone, but here are some basic guidelines for you to follow:

First, pray with the Lord about taking this responsibility. If you are feeling lead, contact either of the emails listed below to let us know! After officially becoming a prayer guardian for one of our children, we will send you a photo of your prayer child, along with a description of their story, and specific things they need prayer for. We will update you every three months to inform you on how your prayer child is doing. We will also send you a six month “check -in” to see how it’s going, and to ensure that you want to continue being a prayer guardian.

Knowing that someone is praying for each of our children is so comforting to us and to them. We know that when two or three are gathered in the name of Jesus, He is there in the midst of them.

Thank you for your consideration and prayers,

Leah Boysen and Alicia Holmes
